Roscommon eviction trial to resume after Easter break

A trial at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court concerning an alleged assault during an eviction has heard evidence from gardaí regarding search operations conducted in December 2018. Four men from Roscommon, Mayo, Meath and Donegal have each pleaded not guilty to 17 charges relating to an incident on December 16, 2018, at a rural property near Strokestown. The charges include false imprisonment and assault of four security personnel, aggravated burglary, arson, violent disorder and robbery. Evidence was presented on the nineteenth day of the trial regarding items seized during searches of one defendant's home and outbuildings, including electronic devices and a vehicle. Gardaí testimony detailed the arrest and detention procedures followed. The case will resume on Monday, April 17, following the Easter adjournment.
