A postmistress and her daughter gave evidence at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court describing their ordeal during a tiger kidnapping at their Malahide home in September 2014. Susan Lawlor told the court that intruders forced her, her daughter Emma Carter, and an Italian student lodger from their residence and compelled her to withdraw approximately €90,000 from a post office in Sutton. Ms Lawlor said she managed to alert An Post by activating a dedicated hotline before being driven to her workplace. Both women described threats of violence and weapons during the incident. Paschal Kelly, aged 52 from Cootehill, County Cavan, has pleaded not guilty to charges including false imprisonment, robbery, and threatening to kill the three victims. The trial before Judge Karen O'Connor and jury continues at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
