Three men appeared before the Special Criminal Court on Saturday following arrests by the Special Detective Unit as part of an investigation into dissident republican activities. Séamus McGrane, aged 60, from County Louth, was charged with directing the activities of an unlawful organisation styling itself the Irish Republican Army between December 2009 and May 2015, and with membership of the same organisation. He was remanded in custody until 20 May. Donal Ó Coisdealbha, aged 23, from Dublin, faced charges of membership and possession of a component part of an improvised explosive device discovered at his workplace in County Kildare. His solicitor indicated an intention to seek bail at the next hearing. He was remanded in custody until 20 May. Dylan Cahill, aged 22, from County Tipperary, was charged with membership, possession of a firearm and ammunition, and possession of two improvised explosive devices, all allegedly found at a location in Leitrim on 13 May. He was remanded in custody until 9 June with liberty to apply for bail.
