A jury at the Central Criminal Court has found a 57-year-old man from Bailieborough, County Cavan, guilty of unlawful possession of a 12-gauge double-barrel shotgun. The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge, as well as to a separate allegation of possessing the same firearm with intent to endanger life. A jury comprising five women and seven men returned a unanimous guilty verdict after deliberating for more than five hours.
