Balbriggan District Court round-up

Seven cases were heard at Balbriggan District Court. A 23-year-old man from Skerries pleaded guilty to hit-and-run offences following a rear-end collision on Selsekar Road in September 2013. Judge Dermot Dempsey convicted and fined him €400 for the collision offences and €100 for tax violations, imposing a six-month driving disqualification. A man charged with cultivating cannabis plants was remanded on continuing bail pending service of the Book of Evidence in September. A 23-year-old from Balbriggan accused of breaching a barring order and criminal damage was remanded on continuing bail to July 24th. A 26-year-old from Lusk charged with assault causing harm was remanded pending Director of Public Prosecutions directions. A woman accused of stealing petrol and using false number plates was remanded on continuing bail to July 24th. A 26-year-old from Duleek charged with assault by headbutting was remanded to July 31st. A man who pleaded guilty to cannabis possession was offered the opportunity to avoid conviction through a charitable donation.
