Balbriggan District Court round-up

At Balbriggan District Court on 23 May 2014, a 26-year-old man from Donabate was remanded on continuing bail in connection with allegations of assaulting a bouncer outside a nightclub in Balbriggan in March 2013, causing a fractured ankle. A 24-year-old from Cavan who pleaded guilty to theft from a Skerries supermarket was dealt with under the Probation Act and warned to avoid the premises. A 44-year-old man from Armagh, charged with unlawful possession of cannabis for sale and supply on the M1 at Lusk in February, was remanded pending directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions. A 46-year-old woman from Skerries charged with unauthorised taking of a vehicle and driving without insurance was remanded on continuing bail. A 21-year-old from Balbriggan charged with criminal damage to a property in Skerries had his case adjourned to allow gardaí to caution him. A 49-year-old from Balrothery charged with assaulting a garda and related offences was remanded on continuing bail.
