2.5-year sentence for 'trusted' drugs operative caught in €1.2m exchange was too low, court finds

Outcome: At the Court of Appeal today, Mr Justice Isobel Kennedy said the court would increase the sentence by 18 months after noting that Lindsay had been a "trusted" operative in a wider drug operation. In re-sentencing Lindsay, Ms Justice Kennedy said an appropriate headline sentence was 10 years.

Outcome: He said the circumstances of the case allowed him depart from the presumptive mandatory minimum sentence and he imposed a four and a half year term with the final two years suspended.
