As Judge Martin Nolan said that he agreed the defendant Artiom Cerenkov deserves a chance, Cerenkov's phone began ringing audibly, leading the judge to remark "he nearly lost it before he got it." Judge Nolan sentenced Cerenkov, who has 26 previous convictions, to two and a half years which he suspended in full.
