Knife-wielding addict fails in appeal over attempted hijacking

Outcome: Tyler Lewis, then 20, to a total of six years in jail after identifying a pre-mitigation headline sentence of nine years for the July 2020 offences. On November 23, 2020, Lewis was sentenced after pleading guilty at Cork Circuit Court to six years for possession of a 15cm knife, unlawfully seizing a vehicle and falsely imprisoning a female.
