Woman who seriously assaulted "vulnerable" recovering crash victim has sentence cut

Outcome: She was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment with the final three suspended by Judge Tom O'Donnell at Limerick Circuit Criminal Court on April 4, 2017. Mr Justice Hedigan, who sat with Mr Justice George Birmingham and Mr Alan Mahon, re-sentenced Whelan to 12 years imprisonment with the final four-and-a-half suspended leaving her with a net jail term of seven-and-a-half years.
