Former GAA coach who raped and beat boy is jailed

Outcome: former GAA coach who groomed, raped, beat and harassed a boy he mentored at their local club has been jailed for nine years. Passing sentence today, Mr Justice Michael MacGrath imposed concurrent sentences totally ten and a half years, having indicated that a headline sentence of 13.5 years would be appropriate in the case.
