Outcome: Eddie McEvoy (34) described the spate of thefts carried out within a three-month period as opportunistic and on soft targets. "He's a man who tends to go through open doors," said defence barrister Keith Spencer BL, at a sentence hearing at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court today. Judge Greally said the court would endeavour to put in place a post-release structure for McEvoy when he is sentenced, to give him some sort of support.; Judge Melanie Greally adjourned sentencing until February 28 next and referred the matter to Probation Services, observing that McEvoy has a history of continual offending dating back to 2003.
