Outcome: She sentenced him to three years in prison with the final 16 months suspended under the following strict condition. Aylmer wanted to sincerely apologise to the victim and said it was out of character. "I am absolutely disgusted by the hurt I caused; physically sick knowing the hurt I caused you." A letter from Aylmer's wife was handed in at an earlier sentence hearing in April but she has since withdrawn that letter.; Judge Melanie Greally had previously adjourned the case to allow for a probation service report.
