Craig Corcoran, 29, pleaded guilty to assault causing harm, trespass and obstruction of a peace officer after punching his former partner in front of their child. The incident occurred on 17 February 2022 at Empress Place, Dublin 1, when Corcoran followed the victim, struck her twice, and fled after a confrontation with Gardaí. He was later arrested after climbing a wall and entering a building via its roof. Corcoran has 66 prior convictions, mainly for assault and drug offences. Judge Orla Crowe sentenced him to 27 months, with the final six months suspended for two years on strict conditions, including Probation Service supervision. The court noted the presence of the child and the aggravating nature of the assault, but also considered mitigating factors such as Corcoran's guilty plea, apology, and efforts to address his drug addiction while in custody. The couple, now engaged, had reconciled after the incident.

Munir Ghariani, a convicted sex offender, appeared before Judge Melanie Greally at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court regarding his failure to meet with Probation Officers. The Probation Service, represented by Michelle Richardson, reported that Ghariani had not presented himself since his sentencing and was considered high-risk. The court also noted he was charged with breaches of the Sex Offenders Act for alleged failures to notify authorities of his address. Although the validated procedural stage is sentence, the matter was adjourned for two weeks. Judge Greally warned that if Ghariani did not attend two weekly meetings within that period, he would be jailed. This follows his guilty plea to the robbery of a Chinese national on Granville Road, Cabinteely, on March 21, 2016. The judge had previously imposed a four-year sentence, backdated to May 19, 2016, and suspended the balance of the term. She emphasized the disturbing nature of the offense and the high risk Ghariani poses to the community. Ghariani's defense, Michael Bowman SC, stated his client had been taking anti-psychotic medication. The Probation Service indicated they would continue monitoring him for two years, noting his recent homelessness and prior non-compliance with medication.
